They went in yesterday and found that the infection was VERY advanced. After opening him up, they cleaned it up the best they could and now he will be on IV antibiotics for 10 days. A feeding tube has become necessary to provide nutrition and he is NOT happy. He is grabbing and pulling at any and everything in his grasp, so they have wrapped his hands like "a boxer" as Shelby put it.
The thought of his MOST INCREDIBLE smile being modified by pain is most distressing! If you only knew the JOY he has brought in his 16 years, with the fewest of words, and the most transforming spirit, you have NOT LIVED!!!!!

Oh dear! Please Lord! We could use a DOUBLE-DUTY dose of Your healing touch for Max...and for Tait. Scott and Amy need our prayers to make a decision about Tait's care. The doctors think it would be a good idea to give him steroids to improve his lungs. His settings on the ventilator are not decreasing. The steroids can possibly cause severe side affects. Obviously this is an extremely difficult decision. Please pray for them for peace and wisdom to know what to do. Thank you so much for your prayers for this family.
And, Lord, PLEASE HAVE MERCY AND HELP MAX. Whether by medicine or miracle, please remove the infection and send him quickly in the direction of recovery! And please bring GREAT comfort to the loved ones who must watch him endure this! PLEASE!!!
