A Wish Come True...

It has long been Robynn's desire to visit my brother Matt's home on the beach of Punta Mita, Mexico. Her, Brian and the kids just received their passports right before she got sick. We had mapped out many scenarios, but as her health deteriorated, we were resigned to the fact that getting her there was impossible. Taking her to Half Moon Bay became our alternate plan and as you know she was sick almost the entire time and never made it on the sand.

Fast Forward, a month and a half.......Robynn is doing better than we could have ever hope for. We know it is because of your prayers and the Hand of Our GREAT Father, that this miracle has been bestowed. Based on her improved condition, we decided to revisit getting "Our Girl" to Mexico. Matt and Erin are there right now getting things set up and are whisking Robynn, Brian, Brady and Hailey away this Saturday. The kids and I, Mom, Dad, Jenny and Derek get to benefit by default!;) It has been a world wind, but I think we have all bases covered and passports in our hot little hands.

Brian has thought of everything and has taken all the necessary precautions for Robynn's care. They will leave straight from Mexico to Texas on the 6th, where Robynn will undergo her battery of tests and examinations during the first half of the week.

We are excited beyond explanation and can't wait to add this "Memory Making" trip to the scrap book in our hearts, minds and on our coffee tables.

We ask that you continue to hold Robynn up in prayer and ask Our Lord to keep us safe in our travels.
I ask that you not forget to get your local blood center and donate!!!
GIVE BLOOD, GIVE LIFE!

You are the BEST "Army Goodell"!
Love you ALL!

Update on Nick Hanson

Per your request, here is a letter written
by his son Joe;

It is hard to believe that 4 weeks have gone by since my last e-mail. I apologize for the delay. I have updated some of you individually.

God is good! My Dad is doing great. I spoke with him on the phone this past Sunday for the first time in this 7 week journey. He was very encouraged and he is beginning to understand all that he has been through. He woke up from the coma a number of days ago but it was a long time before he was coherent.

The family has tried to convey how close he was to death and I think he is amazed. He really appreciates all of your prayers. He is still in the hospital and will be moved to an alternative care facility soon. The recovery for this will be long and he will likely have a lot of outpatient procedures.

Regarding his ankle and shoulder, they are healing and the infection is going away. They are nowhere near 100% but with time they will be healed. We have learned from the orthopedic surgeon that he usually only operates 2 or 3 times before amputating. In my Dad’s case, he has operated on the ankle 9 times, it is almost as if the doctor refused to give up. I believe God was in the middle of this and the ankle is now healing in a cast.

In the coming weeks, I will be preparing some notes that you have sent to give to him. If anyone is inspired with any other words of encouragement feel free to e-mail me at
joe@noriega-bradshaw.com. I would like my Dad to know how many people have interceded for him on this journey. I praise God for you and your faithfulness. His presence in this situation is both humbling and overwhelming.

Our only prayer requests are for continued physical healing of the ankle and shoulder; for my mother as she deals with his condition and the lifestyle changes that are to come; and that my Dad truly recognizes how much God loves him and all he has been delivered from.

Thank you and God Bless –

Joe & Jesica

No News IS Good News!

I apologize for the lapse in posts, but for the most part "Our Girl" is doing well! She has struggled a bit with some belly pain, but seems to have kicked it to the curb.
She will continue the same chemo regimen and is still on target to get rechecked in Texas the week of July 7th.

Though I have been silent, I am steadfast in my belief that you have not been;)
There is no doubt your constant prayers ring loud in Our Lord's ears!

Hebrews 12:2-3
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (NIV)

Love to all!

Challenge for "Army Goodell"

GIVE BLOOD...GIVE THE GIFT of LIFE!

Callahan(17) went yesterday to Houchin Blood Bank in Bakersfield and gave for the VERY first time and has another appointment in 8 weeks. While there, I realized that Robynn might not need any whole blood, plasma or platelets at the moment, but there are countless people who do and we are "commanded" to serve!
I had not donated blood in years, but gave at Robynn's Blood Drive and returned to donate again on my birthday, so I'm not asking any of you to do something I'm not willing to do myself. I know it scares the Bejeepers out of some of you, so here's an alternative...if you absolutely can't do it, ask someone you know to donate instead...on your behalf (so to speak)

Did you know that every three seconds someone requires a blood transfusion?
Can you imagine the impact "Army Goodell" could have on helping those in need???
I will not even attempt to guess, because you soldiers surpass ANY and EVERY expectation that ever crosses my mind!

So here are your Orders: Go to ANY Blood Center and donate to ANY organization you choose(most have lists at the reception desk & Blood Source will accept in Robynn's name) or give to their "general fund" in ROBYNN's HONOR! When your Orders are complete, report back and we will track how many pints of blood "Army Goodell" is contributing to friends in need!

We have been blessed with many miracles and it is once again time to;
PAY IT FORWARD and give Thanks and Praise to our Gracious God!

I anxiously await All soldiers to report for duty!

120 Pounds!

That's Robynn's "goal weight"! She met with her Dr. yesterday and that's where they would like her to be. She weighed in at 112, so we've got 8 pounds to pack on!
She had a little bit of a struggle yesterday which caused her to take pain and anti-nausea meds for the first time in a while:( She felt better when she woke up today and that's what we like to hear!!!

Pray On for Pounds, Pleasantness and Power!

We Loved "That's Amore"!

Good Morning soldiers!
What a difference eating has made for Robynn! She looked incredible...you could see that sparkle in her eye shining bright as ever! "That's Amore" was a wonderful event that Robynn and the rest of us enjoyed thoroughly. (except for the entire room singing me Happy Birthday;)
The food was GREAT, the service was IMPECCABLE and just the general vibe was AMAZING! It was a little embarrassing when we bought $100 worth of raffle tickets(all to win the Omelet Maker) and divided them up between all our kids and ended up winning 10 prizes...it seemed like we got everything EXCEPT the Omelet Maker;) Brady and Hailey were thrilled even when it was not a kid related prize. You would have thought Brady won the lottery with the excitement he showed running up to the stage with his tickets being waved over his head. It was really somethin! Robynn would put her head down in embarrassment and say "no more, that's enough". I just enjoyed the kids response and pondered taking them to Vegas!
Thanks to ALL who made it so EXCEPTIONAL!

Thank you all for the birthday wishes!
Thank you Robynn and Brian for making my day so special! Not only did Robynn make my favorite cake, she also made be the most precious bracelet with a heart disc that says "sister" and a round disc that reads "strength".
"My cup overflows"!

Pray for continued healing, strength and grace...

Rick Harrison

Please pray for Rick who had a massive heart attack and has been in critical condition. His brother is Father Craig Harrison of St. Francis church in Bakersfield. Father Craig married Robynn and Brian and has always held a special place in our families hearts. His family has endured great loss recently when their sister passed away unexpectedly four months ago.
I was at Gillian's 1st communion Saturday and Father Craig did the mass/ceremony. He told us what his family was going through and that he couldn't imagine getting through these times without Christ. He also wondered what non-believers held onto in times like these.
It has made me wonder as well......

The Harrison's pain must be tremendous, but their Faith remains "Strong"!
We are ordered to "Stand" with them in Prayer and continued commitment to Our Gracious God!

Pray on!

Will She EVER Cease to Amaze Us?

"Our Girl" is doing very well! She enjoyed a wonderful weekend of relaxation and even dinner in San Francisco with my parents. She is determined to get her strength back, so she ventured out on an easy little walk/jog with Hailey and Mousse Sunday. She is unbelievable!
Yes, I'm feeling quite ashamed of myself at the moment for not getting MY able body moving with some sort of exercise! I'm a bad girl, I know;)

Pray that she continues to THRIVE!!!!!
Amen!

Pray On,
S
