2 More Rounds, It Is!

Dear Family and Friends,

I just got off the phone with Robynn and her results are complicated, but here's my best translation;

Pretty much all the tumors in her abdomen have shrunk. She has multiple tumors in her liver, some have shrunk, some have increased in size. We did not talk about the other various locations where she has tumors, as these 2 area are the greatest concern. With that information, they are pushing "Our Girl" to go 2 more rounds with chemo. She will resume chemo this Thursday and be done with both rounds just before Thanksgiving(Hip Hip, Hooray!). Most patients are "begging" to have a break after what Robynn has endured, so we expect these next 2 rounds to continue to brutalize poor Robynn.
So I repeat;
Romans 5:4
And endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation.

Please do not forget to Thank God for what He has given us thus far, and what He will continue to do...
Isaiah 49:13
Sing for joy, O heavens! Rejoice, O earth! Burst into song, O mountains! For the LORD has comforted his people and will have compassion on them in their sorrow.

The Waiting Game......

Romans 5:4
And endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation.

As we know Robynn's "endurance" has been off the charts. Let hopes it pays off, with wonderful results from her day of testing yesterday.
"Army Goodell", prayers up to the Heavens!!! That's an order;)!

Off To Texas

They are headed back to see how well the chemo is working and whether Robynn's body can withstand another cycle or not. Just a reminder, that Robynn has been undergoing chemo "full throttle" since February. More than likely, her poor little body needs a break. Kind of a double edged sword....yes, we want her to have the comfort of a break from chemo, but...we fear of what will go on with the tumors if left alone. That is our dilemma soldiers.
So your orders are this;
Pray that the healing and comfort continues with or without chemo and at the hand of Our Gracious God! We have watched Him at work and know He is with us.

Love you all!

Robynn & Uncle Sonny

Robynn's comfort has been short lived since she has returned home. Please pray He puts His hands upon her and gives her some relief. They plan to leave for MD Anderson for her 6 week check up this weekend, so we need her well enough to get on a plane. Pray! Pray! Pray!
Mom/Mum-Mum will be in West Sac to take care of the kids while Brian and Robynn are away...thank you Mum-Mum!!!

Our Uncle Sonny (Julian) had some kind of seizure when he was at CBCC getting his chemo yesterday. His Dr ordered an MRI that we will get the results on today.
He's as feisty as ever, so that's a good sign;)

Philippians 4:8
And now, dear brothers and sisters, let me say one more thing as I close this letter. Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (NLT)

May Robynn and Uncle Sonny Praise Him as they fix their thoughts on comfort, healing and His love!

Praise the Lord!

They pumped Robynn full of IV antibiotics last night and today and sent her home with 7 days of oral antibiotics...YIPPEE!!!!! She was "Woo Hooing" in the background when I was talking to Brian. How that did my heart good!;)

Thank you again for going beyond the call of duty "Army Goodell".
You do me proud, every time!!!!

Back Down Army Goodell

Loyal Soldiers,

Robynnn has been admitted to the hospital to get a handle on the infection that seems to be causing her latest symptoms.
Please keep her surrounded in constant prayer and I will let you know how things are going tomorrow.

May Rest and Healing be yours, sweet girl!!!!! Feel our prayers!!!!!

Stand Strong! Stand Together! Stand with HIM!

Timothy 6:12
Fight the good fight of the faith. (NIV)
I have to remind myself when I am saddened and frustrated over Robynn struggling, that we can do ANYTHING through Our Gracious Lord. Please pray for Robynn, please pray for the soldiers that pray beside you as they might struggle with private issues.
Recently she struggles with a fever and lack of energy. She has been a tired little girl and I hope this rest is just what she needs to bounce back.

Please keep our friend Barbara in your prayers as she prepares for "Battle"! It was confirmed that her cancer was not isolated to her pancreas...it has also spread to her liver.

Love you all!

Robynn's Thank you!!

Hi Guys!

I was sitting here tonight reading all of the sweet postings on my blog and thinking how lucky I am to have so many people that are so caring in my life. I have been experiencing a lot of stomach pain lately and then suddenly it all just disappeared. Hmmm, I wonder why? =) Obviously, our Lord heard all of the prayers that you sent up to Him and He decided to cut me a little slack this week. I had a wonderful week of cleaning, cooking, making jewelry, soccer practice, walks around the neighborhood, and best of all working in my children's classroom. I owe it all to the Lord and my "army." I just wanted to take the time to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the love and prayers you have completely showered me with. Tomorrow I have my long and more difficult chemo and I will be greedy and ask for more prayers. I have bunco tomorrow night with a group of beautiful women and I would love to feel good for it. Thank you, thank you, and thank you again for everything. I know that my words do not do justice to the gratitude in my heart, but I hope that you at least get a glimpse of it. My cup truly runneth over. I love you.

Barb and family,

Life Is Good!!!

Deuteronomy 31:8
"The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

Thank you again Lord for bringing relief these past 2 days to Robynn. It is with your grace and mercy that rest and comfort has befallen her. Thank you for supplying courage, when discouragement is all consuming and providing security and friendship when we are afraid.

I am thrilled to report that Robynn worked in the kids classrooms, got a couple haircuts ( her wigs needed some shaping;) and was on the prowl for some new do's. You go girl!
I'm sure you can appreciate the joy it brings me to imagine Robynn blissful and pain free while she accomplishes the above. Nothing extraordinary, just "life"being played out and a brighter hope of tomorrow on the horizon...THANK YOU JESUS!

I love you all and thank you for your unending love, faith and prayers.

LORD HEAR OUR PRAYERS...

Dear Army Goodell,

You are called to duty and asked to find more recruits for prayer. "Our Girl" is REALLY having a rough time:( It seems her body has almost reached its limit with chemotherapy. I spoke with her today and could hear in her voice the toll it is taking. She still laughed, she still joked and she was still ALL concerned about Tanner, but I could just tell. I got off the phone and cried.
I just don't understand why she has to endure this kind of misery. Please ask Our Dear Lord to have mercy on her and give her peace, comfort and contentment.

"Rejoicing in hope;
patient in tribulation;
continuing instant in prayer"
(Romans 12:12)

You Guys Surpass Any Expectation, Everytime!

As far as Tannner goes, he broke his Ulna and his Radius and was surgery bound, until you guys stepped in! Your prayers changed everything! When we visited the Orthopedist Friday afternoon, he told us the Dr's in the Trauma Center set his arm perfect, laterally and missed just a bit on the other, but said it was close enough to his "growth plate", and should heal very nicely without surgery. He goes back this Friday for more xrays to make sure this temporary cast is keeping his bones in place. If so, then they will leave him in it for 2 weeks as swelling is better tolerated in it and then put a hard cast possibly right over this one. He is still pretty drugged up, but is thankful and gracious whenever he requires someones help.
While it is disappointing that his hard work and total dedication will go without reward, we are grateful that it was this and not something more serious.
A little insight into Tanner's "spirit"...when his coach came over and told Tanner his wrist was obviously broken, Tanner replied, "but Coach, I'm starting today". Gotta love that!
SHS beat EHS 34-0....go Mustangs!;)

Romans 8:26
The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

PS I will get back to you with an update on Robynn when I talk to my brother.

Tanner & Robynn

Robynn and I would ask you all to pray for our nephew Tanner (the Blog Dancer). As he was preparing to be the starting right tackle in his first High School football game, he broke his wrist and had to be taken via ambulance to the hospital. My understanding is the swelling is too bad to perform surgery tonite, they hope to set it tonite and perform surgery within the next few days once the swelling has decreased. Please pray that he is granted comfort from the pain he is experiencing and that the surgery is able to be performed quickly so the healing process can begin!

I would also like to ask everyone to say and extra prayer or two for Robynn. Typically the pain and discomfort she experiences comes within days (usually days 1-4) after chemo. Unfortuantely, throughout last night (the night before chemo) Robynn was experiencing such a significant amount of pain, multiple pain meds had to be used to gain her some comfort and help her sleep (knock her out) at 5am. With chemo completed today we are preparing for more days and nights like this, she is already experiencing discomfort this evening that has required her to take meds in hopes of keeping a handle on things. My hope is that the extra prayers lifted to our Lord will ease some of the burden Robynn is sure to endure in the upcoming days and nights.

Thank you so much for all of your support and prayers!

Robynns Adoring Husband!

BIG Shout Out of Prayer....

Chemo again today! Wrap her up in love and prayers!!!!!

Psalm 27:13-14
I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD. (NIV)

Grateful Goodell Family!

As Robynn and I were Celebrating our 11th Anniversary Saturday, we were sitting on a balcony overlooking the Napa Valley when we looked at each and said we didn’t think we would see this day. We then went on to reflect on the many wonderful things we have been able to do, so many thing we never thought possible:

we celebrated our Godsons Baptism on Robynn’s Birthday/Easter
we celebrated our most meaningful Mothers Day ever
we were there when Hailey Graduated from Kindergarten,
we were at nearly all of the kids Baseball games
we’ve had family vacations to Halfmoon Bay, Houston Tx, and Punta de Mita Mexico
we Celebrated Brady’s 9th Birthday
we watched Brady throw out the 1st pitch at the Rivercats game
we saw Hailey make her Runway debut at Mamaraderie
we saw the start of a new school year at Our Lady of Grace
we watched Hailey start a new soccer season
Robynn has been able to rejoin the Girls for Bunco and Friday morning coffee

and the list goes on, because the fact is everything we are experiencing now was never thought possible it is all a blessing, a Miracle and only possible by the Grace of God!

I know you all pretty much know everything I have listed but the reason I did was to remind you all of the wonderful things YOU ALL have helped us achieve. Your kind words, your supportive emails and texts, your comments on the blogs, your attendance at the fundraisers and blood drives, and most of all the unending prayers you send up to our most Incredible Lord are what has helped Robynn and the Goodell Family get to where we are today. I can never thank you all individually (though I wish I could) and I can never begin to thank you enough, but please know that I am truly Grateful for what you have done for my Beautiful Bride of now 11years and 1 day and my family. You have given Hope, Love, Support, Kindness, Selflessness and so much more when it seemed that all was lost. I know Robynn is an inspiration to us all, but know YOU ALL are an inspiration to us!

My Uncle Sonny said (long before it was a book title or a campaign slogan) “It Takes a Village!” and for so many things it does take a Village, especially Fighting Cancer. Thank you all for being the most incredible Village/Army anyone could have ever wished for you all are incredible.

Last I want to Thank You for taking on the many special requests that have been placed on the Blog. We have seen what your prayers and support have done for so many people and I know they are all Grateful! Please continue to Raise Up Baby Jonah, his mom and dad (Scott & Amy) and all of their family. I know your kind words and encouragement have helped Robynn and I know they’ll do the same for the Goodman family! You can check in on them at http://www.jonahscott.blogspot.com/

One last thing promise, there are a couple of great songs I wanted to pass on from YouTube: Stand Up For Cancer had a fabulous theme song "Don't Give Up Just Stand Up!" that is really worth listening to. Here's the YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S47HSgvhneA&feature=related I believe you can also go to Itunes to purchase with procedes going to the fight against cancer.

I also wanted to pass on Callahans motivational song written and performed specifically for Robynn: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qY_600tqZIk I know many have seen this, but this is something worth revisiting. It has done so much for us, if you remember this song was given to Robynn that terrible week in April when things were at their worst. Look how far Robynn has come since then. Thank you Cal!

God Bless You All and Keep You Safe!

A Rollercoaster Ride

That's the best way to describe this week for "Our Girl".
She's Standing Strong, but has her good and her not so good times.
Please pray that more good times are on the horizon.

Christ which strengthens me......"

More FFF!!!;)

We had a fun filled time at Pinedorado! Robynn kept on top of her pain meds and got to watch the parade, see the ocean and shop with the girls;) She battled being a little sleepy, but all in all had a wonderful time "making memories"!
Please keep Robynn held up in CONSTANT prayer. Her body can only take so much chemo before it becomes intolerable. Ask that the Lords gentleness will fall upon her during this time.
