Cowgirl Up!

Our Dear Robynn is struggling with abdominal pain and needs extra prayers!
Our family is headed to Cambria for Pinederado and we were unsure if Robynn could make the trip:( Being the TRUE WARRIOR that she is, there was no deterring her.
Her thoughts..."wherever I am, I'm gonna be sick so I might as well be with the ones I love and enjoying a beautiful view". That's the spirit, oh AMAZING ONE!!!!

Job 37:5
"God's voice is glorious in the thunder. We cannot comprehend the greatness of his power."

Can't keep Her down...

"Our Girl" had a rough night Sunday. The Sunday and sometimes Monday following chemo(Thursday) are usually her worst days, but yesterday was an ok day.
Please pray for LOTS MORE of those!;)
They are back on track at Our Lady of Grace and are thrilled to have Hailey there with Brady.

Results are In...

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

We have seen firsthand that God's plan might be different from our own. But at the same time we have been witness to countless miracles and a change in our hearts, souls and actions.

The results of Robynn's tests were not as good as we hoped, but could have been worse. The tests confirm that some of the tumors have stayed the same size and some have grown slightly.
MD Anderson wants to for sure get in 2 more rounds of chemo, rescan/test and see if her body can tolerate 2 more after that. If this can be accomplished, she will get a rest from chemo for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and that definitely is a blessing!:)

Nothin Outta Texas Yet:)

Please raise "Our Girl" UP, UP, UP, as we anxiously await the results of her scans/tests.

Please say a special prayer for my Uncle Dick, his wife Nancy and his son Ryan and other family and friends as we travel to Taft to leave Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Joe at their final resting place.

Psalm 139:7-10
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

It is because of this promise that we know HE will not let us fall. He will watch over us in our sadness and grief and turn it into something that will glorify His name. I'm sure Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Joe are in "Awe" of the place HE had waiting for them. Whenever I start feeling overwhelmed with despair, I think of the smiles on their faces in His presence and I find some relief.

Love to All!

She's Standing Strong!

Dear Friends,
I apologize for the delayed update. My only excuse is that his week has been a bit busy/overwhelming.
Robynn is feeling much better and her Procrit must have kicked in, because she did not require a transfusion while in Bakersfield. We aren't quite sure what was ailing her, but are relieved it has passed.
Services for our Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Joe were yesterday and when they ended, the Goodell's headed back to Sacramento. They are frantically getting packed for Texas and making sure the kids are ready for their 1st day of school. They leave Sunday morning and will start her normal set of testing Monday. Please pray that the chemo continues to work in Robynn's body to rid this cancer once and for all!!!

We thank you again for all your love, support and prayers...

Back to Our Knees Soldiers

Robynn has really been suffering last night and this morning. Her discomfort is great, but is unable to take any pain meds because they make her nauseous. She is trying to stabilize enough to get in the car and get to the Dr. Today's visit should confirm or disprove her need for a transfusion and check other blood levels for clues as to what is causing her such misery.

"I Am the Light of the World...

If you follow me, you won't be stumbling through the darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life." John 8:12
Our family is in great need of this reminder.
He is our salvation!

Just wanted to let you know Robynn and family are here in Bakersfield. She had chemo Thursday and found that her blood count was down and might require a transfusion. She looks fantastic and feels pretty good. We are thrilled to have them here this week and are anxious about their upcoming trip back to Texas. Keep our Sweet Robynn lifted in prayer!!!

Please ask the Lord to give us patience, understanding and calm in anticipation of the findings from detectives, that we hope to get in the next day or two. The waiting/not knowing definitely takes a toll.

Love you all!

Our Dear Aunt Dorothy & Uncle Joe

It is with a sadness that I can't put into words that I ask for more prayers for our family. Yesterday, we were stunned to find out that our Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Joe had been taken from us. I do not question their entrance into Heaven with our Magnificent Savior, for I am certain they have arrived. What I struggle with, is the hand that took them there.
As we waited across the street from their home, anxious for any information that would help us understand what had taken place, the senselessness was overwhelming. Shock and disbelief continued to close in. My ONLY comfort came from the fact that my Aunt and Uncle were devout disciples of the Lord. He had called on them many times to do His work and now He had called them home.
Our loss is tremendous, but their reward is eternal and awesome.
Please pray that we honor them with what they bestowed on us... hearts full of love, devotion, grace, compassion, forgiveness and faith.

My love to all of you and up to the heavens.

Julian Goodell

As most of you will remember, our Uncle was diagnosed with cancer about the same time as Robynn. Since his diagnosis he has been faced with many challenges including chemotherapy, kidney failure and is currently working towards a bone marrow transplant. Dialysis 2 days a week is now a constant fixture in his life, but like Robynn, he forges ahead mightily.
He was hospitalized this weekend because his Port became infected. They removed it and he is scheduled to have a new one inserted on the other side of his chest today. Please keep him in your prayers and ask that this infection gets under control and that his new Port insertion goes smoothly.

So Far, So Good!

She has had the upper hand on this chemo treatment and her Pic line is not causing her grief and is working as it should...Hip Hip Hooray!
She was feeling so good, that they had their Godson Will (bunny ears baby in Robynn's bday pics:) for the weekend. Brian stripped the house of any and all "baby dangers"as they prepared to enjoy every moment with this Super-Cutie!!! I don't know that they were quite ready to give him back, but they handed him over to Mom and Dad last night.
It did my heart good to hear Robynn sound so great on the phone. I didn't even have to ask how she was feeling, her joyful spirit was apparent in her sparkling voice. What a way to end a day!:)
