An Email I Received

Nicole Winger here...I just wanted to tell you what your AMAZING brother did this morning...It being Friday, us West Sac Girls were getting together for coffee. Nugget was the place and it was our first time coffeeing at Nugget since Robynn's passing. Just so happens that Brian thought of us today and baked Robynn's famous cranberry bread for us to enjoy. How sweet! We were all a little overwhelmed by the gesture and it did mean so much. I just wanted to share this with you.

My brother AMAZES me everyday and my heart fills with joy because of him. Please keep him and the kids in constant prayer.
Pray On!

The "group of friends meeting for coffee" story is just another example of how someone I never had the pleasure of meeting is still having an impact on me. My friends and I are regulars at Nugget at 6am during the week, and our extended group meets at Nugget every Saturday morning for coffee and just catching up. Though we haven't had to experience losing a member of our group, it reinforces how important friends are, for all levels of support. We always joke that we're there for the coffee (and some days it's true), but it's so much more about the friendship. One of my friends says that, while she is spending more on coffee than ever, it's saving a bundle when put in perspective: The $1.50 Cup of Therapy. As I enjoy that cup of coffee (and another one of Nugget's wicked cinnamon rolls) with my friends this week, I'll be thinking about Robynn's group of friends doing the same thing, catching up, telling stories, making some new memories, and never forgetting.

Like his wife, he is amazing. Always thinking about someone else no matter what the circumstances. They never, ever leave my thoughts and prayers.
