Prayer Request

Kai Joseph David was born at 31 weeks and weighed 3lbs 11 oz. to Rachel and Jeff. Everything is great considering his gestation. He is small, but tough! Baby Kai will remain in the NICU for a little while until he gets stronger. Please pray for him to gain weight and come home soon.

Last I heard, "Our Girl" had taken in that chemo like a champ and was eating, smiling and enjoying life to the fullest! My parents could not get over how TERRIFIC she looked when they brought the kids back to West Sac.
Thank You Jesus!!!

Baby Jonah and Nick Hanson

Two week old Baby Jonah is recovering from having his kidneys removed, please keep him in your prayers!

Nick has had 2 surgeries this past week to help clear various infections. I am requesting continued prayer that these infections will leave his body so that the doctors will not have to amputate his foot.

Our prayers have been answered!

Hi!

It's Robynn. I just couldn't let anyone else share this news with all of you today. I needed to do it myself. First, I need to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all of your positive thoughts and prayers for my health and well-being. We met with my doctor in Houston today and received wonderful news. It seems that many of the tumors have remained stable, but even more have gotten smaller. We are obviously elated at this news! My treatment will remain the same and I will return in 5 weeks for another scan and evaluation. I have absolutely no doubt that this is the result of all of your prayers! God has blessed me in so many ways and now He is blessing me with these positive results. Thank you for all the love and support you have given me. I love you!!!!!

Now we wait..............................tic tock....tic tock...
They meet with their Dr. to go over results at 2:30 Texas time (12:30 our time)
Tanner graduates tomorrow and we are having a big party afterwards, but I will do my best to get whatever news I have posted as quickly as possible.

Until then, back on your knees and ask for another miracle!

God Bless America!

They had a great trip there, a wonderful dinner and were feasting on frozen yogurt last we heard;) They get to have a little alone time before they start with their appointments so I'm glad for that!
My parents brought the kids to Bakersfield yesterday and those nuts went swimming as soon as they got here...no thank you! Way too cold for Auntie!
Hailey helped me make pancakes and bacon for everyone this morning and then we are off to shop for the last minute odds and ends for Tanner's graduation party.

Have a MARVELOUS MEMORIAL DAY and give thanks and praise to all who have served and protected this Great Country of ours!

Prayer Request for Michael

I would ask that all "Army Goodell" soldiers Report For Duty and go to "comments" under the posting "Bump in the Road" and
please read what Valerie wrote.
"Tragedies like ours and yours aren't something anyone practices for - there's no chapter in a book that will prepare us for something like this" This really got to me! I remember a conversation I had with Robynn about what to say to Brady and Hailey and I said to her, "it's not like we can say, well we said this last time and it served us well or that didn't work, let's try something new". What we were faced with was something so foreign and complicated. Our only preparation had to come from Above. We had to be faithful... trusting that the Lord had been preparing us for this without us ever knowing. I am commanded to believe that, and though I struggle some days, I know it is true!

Lord, keep us "Standing Strong" and faithful to YOUR will.
Hold Michael and his family up to Our Lord in prayer!

Still Goin Strong!

Robynn continues to do well. She is eating and keeping it down and she is still getting to be a "Mom", which is ALL important to her. She struggles with some stomach cramping but not constantly like before. Her tummy has increased due to Ascites, but we know that come with the territory because of the toll the tumors have taken on the liver. Her biggest challenge is exhaustion. This chemo really takes a lot out of her. Other than that, Brian and her feel blessed to have this time as a family.

Please keep them in Constant prayer as they gear up for Texas!

Prayer Request

Nick Hanson is in need of Army Goodell's MAGNIFICENT prayer duty!

He has been in a coma since Sunday, May 11. He has been off of any form of pain medication or sedation for six days and he should have woken up a long time ago. His liver is not processing the sedation out of his body. As of this morning, he has pneumonia, a recurring infection in his shoulder and foot, his fever is spiking at night, and he has pancreatitis. We are requesting specific prayers over this liver and his infection. It is apparent that the infection is somewhere else in his body and the doctors have been looking for days with no progress. We are also requesting prayers for his wife. She is remaining strong and positive but she is juggling many balls right now – trying to keep the family business a float in between hospital visits and phone calls to family.

Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again;
From the depths of the earth you will again bring me up.

5 Pounds!

Yes, you read it right!
Our Girl has gained 5 pounds! When I talked to her last night and she said, "I'm hungry", I can't tell you how it tickled me. I made her repeat it over and over and told her I could never get sick of hearing that out of her mouth! She has been eating "real" food without complications... what a WONDERFUL blessing!
She has been keeping busy, but not very "cool" with the heat wave hitting us in California. They put up a Pirate Ship swimming pool for Miss Hailey yesterday and my guess is that Our Girl just might join in the fun to stay cool;)

Please continue to to give Thanks & Praise for another mini-miracle & take the time to visit Baby Jonah's blog@ http://www.jonahscott.blogspot.com/ you have your Orders!

Texas Bound Again!

After speaking with Brian this morning, I guess they will be headin back to Texas!

MD Anderson would like to re-evaluate Robynn. Her doctor also said he would be talking to the MDA First Phase Team to see if Robynn would benefit from any new clinical trials they have available. Her doctor also said he wanted to present her case to the other doctors in the Sarcoma division to get their opinion on what they feel is the best treatment options. They leave Sacramento May 25 and plan on returning the 29th. The 27th will be filled with scans, blood work, imaging and who knows what else. The 28th they will meet with the medical providers. This will hopefully provide some insight as to how things are progressing and what options Robynn has available.
She is still thriving and feeling great! The “Yuckies” have no place in her life today…HOORAY!

and I Will Give You Rest.

Dear Lord, wrap your gracious arms around Robynn so that she receives rest and then is abundantly restored. We bow to You, and thank You for taking away the unbearable pain and discomfort she has faced before. What a relief to not have that burden on her right now.
To you we give ALL the Praise and Glory!

Standing Strong!

Today's title was yesterday's motto! She had a MAGNIFICENT Mother's Day!
Nothing extraordinary happened, but it was extremely enjoyable! This chemo takes a little more out of her in the way of energy, but it's nothing a couple 45 minute snoozes can't handle. They bbq'd with her Mom, Jenni and Derek and had a lovely time!
We are gearin up for a spaghetti feed June 7th and a River Cats game July 18th, so mark your calendars! I'll get you more details later...

Pray that the "Yuckies" will stay FAR, FAR away from Our Girl!

SUPERTY DUPERTY SATURDAY!

Our Girl is back on track! Cart wheels and
BIG kicks are a flyin at my house...better watch out(Pretty Scary;)
She has felt TERRIFIC all day and was even
going out to dinner after the kids game.
Sorry, no"Where's Robynn?" I didn't ask where they were headed!
They seem to think that yesterdays "funk"(please take no offense Kim:) was due to Robynn stopping her pain meds cold turkey. Hmmmm, whats wrong with this picture? I'm trying to get ON some good ones and have had no luck!(lol)
On a serious note...we realize days 4-6 are just around the corner and we must pray for the least amount of pain/discomfort as possible. Pray that tomorrow will be the BEST Mother's Day ever for Robynn and she will fully enjoy a celebrant holiday that I believe God planned with her in mind!
May we all strive to be better Moms today and everyday! There's ALWAYS room for improvement!;)

I love all you SUPER Moms, Mimi's, Mum-Mum's, Enni's, Aunts, Grandmas and all the wonderful women in our world that love, support, guide, inspire and mold us into better servants!

No Funky Fridays for Us!

I'm sorry for the late post, but I was kidnapped!
I'm telling the truth...really I am!:)
This roller coaster ride can get to the best of us and I had some dear friends that were worried about me so they devised a fool-proof plan to have me swiped from home for some FFF(forced friend fun;) For the record, if you've been considering a good kidnapping, I'd have to back ya on that one! Two thumbs-up on the ol kidnaparoo!
Robynn had called when I was wrapped in a towel and trying to get ready with my kidnapper watching my every move. When I called her back I told her I was being kidnapped and she laughed! Some help she was! No, "can I call the police...where are you...RUN as fast as you can screaming for help". Nothing close! She just wanted to know where my kidnappers were taking me and when I replied, "Mexicali"(code for margarita's;) she was even more joyful! I'd get kidnapped everyday just to hear her laugh that precious laugh!

Enough of my antics...what you're really here for is an update on Our Girl Robynn!
Beside a sleepless night, filled with tossin and turning she feels pretty good physically. As we all know, when you can't sleep our minds can get the best of us and lead us somewhere we DO NOT want to be, but as usual our girl put on her Rally Cap and chased the funk away! She helped get the kids ready for school, did Hailey's hair, made their lunches and went to coffee w/ her hubby and had a "date morning" til it was time to pick up Hailey. You GO Girl!

Days 4-6 are still ahead and I pray they don't hit as hard this time!
Get your rally caps on and pray for the same!

Love you all

PS Kel and Raj you can kidnap me anytime!!!

Round 3 is today!

Please pray that Robynn does not have the same horrible reaction like before and that those administering her chemo go slow, slow, slow!

Have Mercy on Robynn Lord and take away her suffering! Let today's treatment work in her body to heal her. Work in our hearts as we sit here helpless and desperate for relief for Robynn!
We look only to you for salvation!

Amen

Report For Duty!

11 year old Michael Russell needs a
"Shield of Defense"!
Please Lord, HEAR our prayers!

The following came straight from his Mom and Dad;

http://www.neurologychannel.com/rsd/index.shtml

For 3 weeks now Michael has had problems with his left arm. It's been drawn up and no strength and in a lot of pain. We've seen his pediatrician, a neurologist, acupuncturist, chiropractor and an ER doctor. 3 of them have come up with Michael has RSD. Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. A painful nerve condition. Michael has had an MRI, a CAT Scan and blood work done, all coming back normal. Michael on Friday has a scheduled EMG some electric test to his nerves which the Doctor says is rather painful. Please pray for him on that day the the Lord will intervene and it will not be painful for him. I have no idea where to go from here except on our knees because the link up top doesn't give a cure just a treatment for his pain. It also doesn't give a good recovery time because some people have been dealing with this for years. Please pray that God will give the Doctors wisdom and that God will do a miracle for Michael. He will be starting independent studies so pray we can keep up on his studies. At least we won't have to worry about how much school he is missing. The school has been very accommodating.

Thank you in advance for your prayers,
Gary, Tamera & Michael

Keep Our Girl in CONSTANT Prayer as well!
No man/woman/child left behind! We are all in this together!

Forge On in unending prayer soldiers!

Grateful!

As I was sitting in the silence of our home watching my "Amazing Angel" sleep I got such an urge to express to you how grateful I am for you all. (Please bear with me as I am not the writer my sister is)

I must admit, everyday I am so taken aback by all of the love and support that continues to pour in for "My Beautiful Bride." Your words, acts kindness, love, and support go so far beyond what I could have ever imagined and for that I am not only in awe but forever grateful. Your words of encouragement helps OUR HOPE to remain, your spirituality helps keep OUR FAITH as strong as it should be, your acts of kindness gives hope to a world where normally all we see on the news is despair, and your support and kindness towards OUR FAMILY (which means everything to us) shows us that OUR ARMY/VILLAGE/TRIBE (what ever you want to call it) is so much bigger and stronger than we ever imagined, stretching from coast to coast and from children to grandparents to complete strangers.

I love you all so very much and am so grateful for how you have touched our lives during this most trying of times!

You are all truly amazing and so appreciated! Please keep up the comments and know that each one is read to Our Girl as they come in and they really do make a difference.

God Bless You and Embrace You!

Robynn's Adoring Husband

Mercy Now!

Hebrews 4:16

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God.
There we will receive his mercy, and we will
find
grace to help us when we need it. (NLT)

I am on my knees begging that he shows mercy to Robynn as she struggles mightily!
Please join me Army Goodell...dig deep and Pray with everything you've got!

XOXO,
S

Walk the Walk!

I think it was my second or 3rd visit to West Sacramento since this all began...
Robynn was VERY ill and things were extremely scary. She was back at home but leaving for another lengthy hospital stay. She told me that there was an area in her closet that held bags with donations for the needy and they would be by to pick it up in a few days. "I won't be here and you can't forget to put it out Michelle Irene" she said with a smile! I promised her I would not forget. Later, she remembered more things that could be added and in the end I think I took out 6-8 bags. I remember standing in her closet in total disbelief. Here was a woman who had no idea what tomorrow would bring her and she was consumed with getting the less fortunate her hand-me-downs! I don't know that I would have had the same conviction if faced with her circumstances. But as we ALL know, THAT'S JUST ROBYNN! Always looking out for someone else first!
This leads me to today when my cell phone rang at about 4:45. "Are you at the store Mom"? "No, what do you need T"? "I have lunches for the needy tomorrow" (just a little background about this program; once a month Tanner will choose to make 10 PB and J's, place them in brown paper bags and add a drink and piece of fruit in each all by himself) At first his procrastination is irritating and I roll my eyes over the phone. I have NOTHING for 10 lunches...nothing! I tell him I will call him back and I immediately feel a sense of pride that my son is following in his Aunt Robynn's foot steps. I was no longer annoyed with the last minuteness of this, but thrilled that he was putting others first. Way to "Pay It Forward" Tanner!

Sister Mary who once told me,
"Our children walk where we walk, not where we point"!
May we ALL walk in a direction that leads to a glorious outcome filled with faith, prayer, compassion, thoughtfulness, humility and love!

Those are your new orders soldiers!
Pray On!

When the Going Gets Rough....

the "Rough" go to the beach with "back up"!
Let me first say, thank you for your patience while awaiting the details of our FFF days at the beach;)
As you are aware, Our Girl had a terrible start which didn't get much better til Saturday.
Here's how it all went down...

Thursday: Was spent driving and and getting her right to bed when we reached the beach house. She struggled vigilantly with abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. While she rested we tried to get unpacked and organize the kitchen for our Mexican Fiesta! She never joined us that night, but the rest of us pigged out on tacos, carnitas, rice and beans, chips n salsa and a special treat that Uncle Brian taught Cal how to make that consisted of roasted jalapenos, garlic, pine nuts, olive oil and cilantro salt and pepper. We chose to eat it on EVERYTHING! Cereal was about the only possibility we thought might not work with it!;) We then took a little field trip down to the pier and Hailey with her charm and amazing new hair cut scored us 4 fresh crabs!
We boiled them the next morning and Cal and Uncle Matt cracked em up for all to enjoy!

Friday: She was still struggling, but was able to get out of bed to sit on the couch and visit with a view of the ocean off in the distance. The men and children fled to the beach for a game of football and woofle-ball. The women stayed behind to keep Robynn company. When she was ready for some more quiet time we took off to a cute little place and had lunch on a patio that faced the water. When the kids were done eating they got to run down to the beach and play in the sand and climb rocks til we finished. When we arrived back home, we all watched a video that Madison along with the help of friends, classmates and school staff had put together for "Aunt Robynn". Very sweet, funny, inspirational, full of love and bound with prayer and support! Later we bbq'd ribs, hot dogs, corn, garlic mashed potatoes, garlic bread and fresh fruit. We then got a crazy game of Taboo going that was lots of fun!

Saturday: This was a CRAZY day for me personally and a 2 thumbs up for Robynn! I had to get Cal back to Bakersfield(4 hours) for her Prom, run by Relay for Life @ CSUB and head back to the beach to miss as little as possible! No worries! I got it ALL done! Cal looked gorgeous! We made it to the Luminary celebration and found bags lit up in Robynn's and my Uncle Sonny's "honor". Was there to hear that Bakersfield had raised over 2 million dollars for the American Cancer Society and that my team "Too much Fun Club" came in second place by raising over 47 thousand dollars! AMEN!
Back at the beach was our own mini miracle unfolding! Robynn was feeling good! To take full advantage of this, they whisked her away to the place we had been the day before for lunch and the amazing view. She ate a bit of soup and enjoyed her family and her surroundings. She took a little snooze when they got back and later visited with the girls while the men/boys played poker! Uncle Derek was the big winner, with Uncle Brian 2nd and Tanner in 3rd.
What happened Papa???

Sunday: This was her BEST day by far!(maybe because it is God's day...hmmmm;) She went shopping at the little shops in downtown HMB. It was getting a little chilly and she was tiring so Brian and Brady took her home and we ate at a local Inn and then headed back as well. Hailey had been waiting this entire trip to go horseback riding. I tried to buy her off with a $23 shirt with a gold studded horse on the front...that didn't work! Instead, Hailey got the shirt and got Auntie to go horseback riding. Thank God for Brian and Madison who did not let me suffer alone! Hailey's smile from ear to ear was worth all the "bottom bashing" I endured! It still hurts to walk, sit, stand etc, but I'll be fine soon!!!:) While we were wild cowgirls/boys, the other boys went fishing to catch our dinner! We were ready for countless snapper to skin and gut and throw over the fire like the old days! I think the Lord Himself had realised our overeating and drinking needed to come to an end, evidenced by Brady and Tanner returning with only 1 fish! Pretty tough to split that between 16 people;) Oh well, break out the trays of pasta!

Let the Dance Off Begin...
It all started as an innocent little challenge. Brady has been very impressed with his cousin Tanner's "moves" that you all have watched courtesy of Bill Haines and youtube. He has watched it countless times to pick up some super impressive moves he might use on some hot chicks that will surface in his future. Pretty smart! Anyway, we moved all the furniture and had our make shift dance floor all ready. Brady was IN THE HOUSE and there was no stopping him now! He was unbelievable! He had moves that stunned us all! Tanner was even taken back! So much so,that he had to get in on the action. Little by little we found another one of us on the floor. Pretty soon ALL of us were dancing! Even Robynn!
Beastie Boys, Taylor Swift, Violent Femmes, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw (just to name a few) blared in the background. We lined danced and did the Cha-Cha. There was more fun had that night than should be allowed!!! Robynn got to slow dance with her devoted hubby to their wedding song,"Because You Loved Me" as well as "Your My Best Friend". Hailey got to dance to "There Goes My Life" with her Mom and Brady's song with Mom was "Jesus Take the Wheel".
Make no mistake, there were tears flowing at this point, but we sucked it up and moved back to FFF and more boogieing! We had to celebrate being together and savor every second! As I watched Robynn and Brian dance my Mom walked over and asked me "so was it worth the 8 hour drive"? "without a doubt" was my response. I would have driven forever if Sunday night was my reward! Well the party wound down around midnight and a few old and out of shape "troopers" hobbled off to bed!

Monday: We were all packing up and getting ready to head out when I see my brother Matthew lugging this huge bucket full of sand up 2 flights of stairs to the house entrance. I then hear him say "if you can't get to the beach, the beach will come to you...get over here and feel the sand between your toes". Robynn, absolutely thrilled, shrieked with excitement and joyfully jumped in the bucket. A scene that will forever be etched in my memory...thank you Matt!

With each memory we meet again with those we love
for the heart never forgets...
Thank you Robynn, Brian, Brady, Hailey, Mom, Dad, Mimi, Jenny, Derek, Matthew, Erin, Madison, Tim, Cal and Tanner...My heart will not only never forget, it will cherish these moments forever...thank you for gifting them to me!
All my Love,
S

She is not feeling very well today and will have next round of Chemo Thursday.
Please keep her ever present in your prayers!

Man Your Posts Faithful Soldiers!

I just wanted to quickly update you before we hit the road!

Robynn had blood work done yesterday and her WBC is way up there, as well as her hemoglobin(RBC). They are a little higher than anyones "normal range" should be, but they don't cause us too much concern. We have to wonder if the Neulasta shot(helps keep WBC up) she got Friday just pumped her up a little too much.
The"calm seas" we prayed for seem to be here early...PRAISE the LORD! She looks FABULOUS! She looks SO good, I catch myself forgetting that anything is wrong. She ate sushi, cake and strawberries without any problem and we talked about all the things that sounded good and we'll make at the beach. How that for Progress!!! We talked, we packed, we watched as she made jewelry and talked some more. She finished the whip cream frosting and finishing touches on Cals cake and we celebrated 17 years. We wanted to watch last weeks episode of "The Office" but Tevo let us down, so we watched a mindless game show that I'm too embarrassed to name;)
I am now awaiting a very special heart charm hand stamped with "STAND"made with love by, the one...the only "OUR GIRL"! (the crowd roars!!!!)
It had to go through one more process last night but is ready now. I feel like a kid at Christmas waiting for their parents to wake up so you can open your gifts! WAKE UP already Robynn!!!!!! I can't wait to wear it just above my other necklace she made me that bears my childrens names. I will see if Brian can take a picture so you all can see it! I had told Brian I was going to order it from Missy(owner of Hayjac) and Brian said Robynn will be so upset if you don't let her make it, and boy was he RIGHT! Thanks for the heads-up bro;)

We will be headed to the beach soon!
I thank you for your service to our family!
Army Goodell could not forge ahead without each and every one of you!
I thank you for your service to Our Father who continues to listen to His servants!
Give Him Thanks and Praise for all he has given us!

Have a wonderful rest of the week!
All my love...Pray On!
