Uncle Sonny had Dialysis for the 2nd day in a row and will be off for a couple days. His BP was more stable than the day before during his treatment. They put in an arterial line so his gas levels and BP can me more exact and this will keep from having him poked continually(there's not many places left:( They also did a Bronchoscopy to check for bacteria and other bugs. His right lower lobe seems to be most affected. They are hoping to fill up the upper and middle part of that lung and get some pockets to open up below releasing the bad gunk(sorry, can't think of Dr lingo;) They did aspirate quite a bit of the bad gunk around 9pm last night, so we will see how that may help. A lung biopsy is still an option, but they want to try the less invasive procedures 1st. The culture on Valley Fever is still something we are eager to get. He will continue on the ventilator until they can figure out exactly what they are dealing with and he stabilizes.
Brian and the kids went home yesterday and my Mom & Dad got to visit Uncle Sonny:)
I will be back to the hospital this morning, but don't possess a laptop like I did with Robynn, so please be patient with my updates.

Pray On!

Wally has been moved from ICU. His wife forever by his side. His pain is constant, but manageable with meds.

Hi Shelley - I am sure most of us are totally fine with the term "gunk" :) Will be thinking positive thoughts for Uncle Sonny - so glad your parents are better and able to visit with him again!

Wonderful to hear that your folks were well enough to visit Uncle Sonny!

My Mom had to be on a ventilator due to her lung condition and she was fighting having it tooth & nail...let's hope that your Uncle Sonny won't have to contend with a ventilator too much longer and that he stabilizes naturally.

Still praying long-n-hard for all of you!!!

Love & friendship~

Shelley and Brian I hope this finds uncle Sonny feeling better and we will continue to pray.

Larry had his procedure today and it went off without a hitch (no pneumothorax)and I have no doubt that it was due to all the prayers he has recieved. He is home resting now and getting ready for the rest of the procedure that I believe will start this next week. Please keep him in your prayers and pray for a safe return of my wife (Tami) and my sister-in-law Nikki as the return home from Bakersfield. Thank you again and we are still praying for Uncle Sonny, Wally, Alexa, Barley, Nick and Jay. This list is way to long and my next prayer is that there are no other names added, but if there are we will be vigilant in prayer Please lord have mercy on our family and friends and let them feel your love pour over and through them.

God Bless All
