Baby Steps!

Well friends, I must be honest and tell you today has not been a great day for our girl:(

She has been experiencing pain on the right side of her chest when she breathes, bouts of nausea and in a general feeling pretty yucky!

They have discontinued Factor 7 and are going to try Radiation to shrink the tumors. The hope is that when the tumors are smaller they will require less blood supply from Robynn and then her blood loss will decrease. They did a CT scan earlier today to figure out how to go about this procedure and were hoping to get it done this afternoon.

Her Oncologist increased her pain patch to a higher does, ordered blood monitoring every 8 hours with blood & plasma transfusions administered as needed, started her on a new anti-nausea medication as well as some IV antibiotics and wants to control her pain with medication hourly. She will continue to get Neupagen to help increase her white blood cell count as well.

Even though it pains us to not have her home, we know she is where she needs to be. The threat of infection is so great and we just can't put her at risk! Getting her stabilized and strong is our ONLY goal at this point. Remember the movie 'What About Bob'?..."Baby steps"!
We will "baby step" forever, if it keeps our girl on the right path!

Pray! Pray Pray!

XOXO,
S

Baby Steps!!! Yes!!! That movie is also about germs :)heehee I never was able to make it through the whole movie, because I began compulsively washing my hands to where my 'then boyfriend' refused to give me one more crack at it...but I DO remember BABY STEPS :)
Today I called a dear friend who I met when my mom was going through her Ovarian Cancer. And we were talking about how crazy it is that it has been 6 years since she (my friend) had been diagnosed with Ovarian cancer herself, which had spread and was found in her lymphnodes...Her doctors have called her a miracle. Even when she was given little hope...SHE BATTLED THROUGH...and here she is 6 years later. She is now taking care of her own mother, and yes she still has to fight the beast..but she is here and she told me today that you would never know she had anything going on (illness wise) if you looked at her. We also had the chance to talk about how we never know what tomorrow may bring in terms of medical advances. I guess what I am trying to say..is, you hold on girlfriend!!! You just keep fighting...break down when you need to, get angry...throw a plate at the nurse...she will understand, and THEN put those gloves back on...after Brian sterilizes them, of course,....and FIGHT!!! We are all cheering you on! Bring on the radiation! If you only knew how many people you have praying for you...I mean it is just amazing! That is quite a testament to what wonderful people you and your family are!
Tons of love and prayer!
I so pray for God to guide you through this time.

One of my favorite things about Robynn...she puts a 'heart' at the bottom of her exclamation points! Energetic and full of heart. I just had to share...

Robynn, I am also one more person who reads your blog all day long. I,like so many hundreds of people, feel like knowing you has made me a better person, mother, wife and friend. I read an article once about what makes people friends, some friends are similiar, some are different, but no one knows why we feel so bonded with certain people. Your kindness, your patience, your integrity and your beauty are all reasons to be drawn to you, however, I love you just because. I just do. Whenever I see your name on my phone,I feel so happy and I am so lucky to have you for a friend. I honestly cant think of another person I would get up at 5:45 to go running for! Every time I open my garage door I see your beautiful smile, ready to go, rain or shine! [But we never did get rained on, did we!] Your spirit has changed me forever and I take you with me wherever I go. I love you so much, and I miss you, and I want you to come home. I am praying for you. Love Sue B. P.S. Hailey played with us today, and she roller skates much better than my boys!
