Round 2, almost done!

Our sweet girl is in a drug induced slumber. She has been struggling mightily with nausea and vomiting. They are trying a new avenue to get this under control. She is receiving 2 units of blood as her hemoglobin dropped to 8.5. Based on our prior experience with unending transfusions and the complications, my immediate response was total panic!!!! However, there was a reasonable explanation given for the drop that shouldn't lead to the miserable cycle we encountered in Round 1.

So, here's my best translation....the chemo is very destructive to Robynn's entire system and it is pummeling her bone marrow. When the bone marrow is attacked, it can't be as vigilant with reproducing new blood. It doesn't stop producing 100%, but it slows down production enough to require a transfusion. So far there is no evidence of blood draining into her tummy like before and that is a HUGE relief!

I'll let you know how Sleeping Beauty feels when she wakes up!

Pray On!
XOXO,

S

You are spectacular! Thank you for the awesome updates and the humor. Robynn, stay strong, Jackson prayes for you every day, he save you for last and he squeezes his eyes extra hard. He says" and God, Please heal Robynn". With special prayers like that, He must be listening.

Hey Shelley :) Well that is good that Robynn is having a nice rest. She needs to rest up for her runs through the halls! I will cross my fingers that today's deep sleep brings a great tomorrow for her :)

Dearest Robynn,
I could hardly sit still on the plane back to Seattle - eager to hear Shelley's lastest update on you. I am so thankful that you made it 3 days without much discomfort and that now the doctors can help you get some peaceful rest for the remainder of this chemo session. I have my bracelet on and I'm spreading your inspirational story around Washington when people ask me about it :) STAND STRONG...you're almost there!

I LOVE YOU!
Kerrie

Robynn,
Hope when you wake-up you're feeling much better. We will be saying our final goodbyes to Grandpa on Saturday, he would be very proud, as he always was, of your fighting spirit. As you know he was an All-Star highschool athelete. Went to college at Oregon State on a football scholarship! Not bad for a 160lbs fullback! When we took him to the carehome the Dr. told us he would only be around for 3-6 months. The only problem was he didn't tell Dad that, well........ 6 years and 2 months later HE decided to leave. Keep getting up sweetheart, we'll keep the love and prayers coming your way.
Love Dad, Jared and Ari.

Hi Robynn!
So I try to tell people I'm not a shopper, but I've proven myself otherwise! I went to hayjac to "look" for presents, and I ended up with a necklace for me (hee hee) and 4 bracelets for Mom, Wendy, my mother-in-law and sister-in-law! I still want my own bracelet, but I want it made by our girl! So I'm waiting for you to get better (and another paycheck lol)to order that one!
I love you and miss you!
Love, hugs, and prayers!
